Japanese Beef Gyudon

Gyudon is an ultra-comforting Japanese classic. featuring thinly sliced beef simmered in a savory soy-mirin sauce and served over steamed rice. The semi-poached egg yolks create a rich. savory sauce that melds perfectly with the tender beef.

It’s important to use very thinly sliced beef for this recipe! The thicker the slices. the more chance you’ll have a tough and chewy result. We recommend purchasing pre-packaged sliced beef in your local Asian grocer. or asking your local butcher for help!

All of Anyday’s recipes are tested (and retested!) in many different microwave and home kitchens to make sure they work— and work well. Unless specified otherwise. all recipes should be cooked at full power.
